[08:56:14] <leon-anavi> morning
[10:01:31] <_IRIX>
[11:34:22] <Haohmaru> which connectors do i need to use to connect the A10-lime with this "LCD-olinuxino-7" ?
[11:35:07] <leon-anavi> hm... there was something specific about the connector
[11:35:11] <Haohmaru> the PCB on the back of the LCD is not exactly like on the picture in the shop, it appears to be newer (it says 2017) and has more connectors
[11:35:45] <leon-anavi> https://www.olimex.com/Products/OLinuXino/A10/A10-OLinuXino-LIME-UEXT/open-source-hardware
[11:36:07] <Haohmaru> i have one of these
[11:36:29] <leon-anavi> have a look at the description in the page
[11:36:40] <leon-anavi> it is a little bit complicated because "The newest generation of Olimex LCD displays doesn't need such an adapter"
[11:36:57] <leon-anavi> and it is just for LIME, A20-LIME2 design is different
[11:37:24] <leon-anavi> ... and you need cables which are sold separately.
[11:37:34] <Haohmaru> still, my question stands
[11:38:25] <leon-anavi> Haohmaru, what is your LCD? is it the newest generation?
[11:38:26] <Haohmaru> when olimex says "0.05" is that the pitch on the connector or the flat cable
[11:38:42] <Haohmaru> well, it says "2017" on the pcb
[11:39:04] <leon-anavi> hm.. probably it is the newest. If so you don't need an adapter.
[11:39:15] <Haohmaru> okay, so i need a cable then
[11:39:27] <leon-anavi> but I don't know which pins you have to connect. I have an older LCD display.
[11:39:42] <leon-anavi> I bought it a few years ago so you is definitely different :)
[11:40:05] <Haohmaru> i need a 40-wire cable with two 2x20 connectors on its ends
[11:40:41] <Haohmaru> and i guess the pitch of the cable should be 0.635, while the pitch on the connector should be 1.27mm
[11:40:46] <Haohmaru> is that correct?

[12:18:38] <adj__> Haohmaru, the LIME1 made a mistake with the connector (they changed their mind about using a female connector to a male one), so the pins where mirrored for what they intended
[12:19:08] <adj__> the newer LIME2 fixed that, and the pins were as intended
[12:19:26] <adj__> so LIME1 and LIME2 have the pines mirrored on to the other
[12:19:49] <adj__> the newer LCD have connectors for both: lime1 and lime2
[12:21:09] <adj__> if you have an old LCD the pins could be mirrored respecting to your board
[12:22:16] <adj__> Haohmaru, are your here?
[12:24:36] <adj__> if your LCD has one 0.1" pitch connector only, then it's an old one, if it has one 0.1" and two 0.05" is a new one
[12:33:15] <Haohmaru> adj__ the LCD has a big (2.54mm) 2x20 connector, two smaller ones (1.27mm) and an extra flat-flex cable connector
[12:33:22] <Haohmaru> it says "2017" on the PCB
[12:34:59] <Haohmaru> so, i need a normal 40-wire cable with two female connectors (2x20 with 1.27mm pitch), correct?
[12:35:20] <Haohmaru> brb
[12:36:23] <adj__> Haohmaru, yes, and connect to the connector marked Lime1
[13:10:22] <Haohmaru> k, thanks
