Hi,

I am using IAR Embeddeded Workbench IDE - MSP430 6.50.1 with the device CC430F6147 and the FET Olimex MSP430-JTAG-TINY-V2 and keep seeing the message below as I set to debbug:

I have followed all the suggested steps of installation and the README file:

These drivers are suitable for two Olimex MSP430 debuggers - MSP430-JTAG-ISO-MK2 and MSP430-JTAG-TINY-V2

1. Connect the device to the USB type B cable
2. When prompted for drivers point manually the installer to folder Drivers_For_OS and chose to install anyway when warning pops up
3. If in doubt whether you have latest drivers replace olimex.dll and/or msp430.dll (taken from IDE_dlls folder) in your IDE folder (for the free OLIMEX programmer software, IAR and CCS). NOTE! msp430.dll is the default .dll for original TI programmers so it is good idea to back it up before replacing it with our msp430.dll
4. In the IDEs select OLIMEX USB or original TI depending on the .dll(s) replaced.
5. Enter debugging mode from the menu of the programmer
6. Debug and if asked to update firmware choose to update it

The problem remains the same. I need help. :-\
Thanks in advance!

Hey,

You did everything correct. The problem is that our firmware is not compatible with the newest versions of IAR EW for MSP430. The IAR team made some cosmetic changes to their code and thus our firmware needs also to be updated. Unfortunately, I don't think we would manage to update it anytime soon.

The only workaround at the moment is to use older IAR EW for MSP430 version. I've tested version 5.20.1 and it seems to work fine.
